About

Serving My Own Communities

My professional approach has been shaped by the needs within my own communities. I am trained in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy, and value continuing education in therapeutic approaches that are trauma based and are centered in supporting marginalized communities. How do I do therapy? I place importance in understanding the dynamics of power, privilege, and oppression that have shaped my clients' identities and lived experiences. I work from a relational, consent-based, anti-oppressive, anti-hierarchical, trauma-informed, somatic, and neurodiversity-affirming framework. Relational: The therapeutic relationship that we build is one of the strongest predictors to our success together. The foundations of our rapport will be centered around boundaries, communication, and transparency. I invite you to let me know what is and is not working, to say no, or to disagree with me. Consent: I approach therapy from a model of informed consent. I check in frequently around continuing your work with me, setting and following intentions, meeting the needs of each week, and any therapeutic interventions you would like to fold into our sessions. Anti-Oppression: Working from an anti-oppression lens allows us to acknowledge the impact of systemic injustice as part of our fatigue, anxiety, and mental health struggles. In our work, we can focus on shifting blame away from self, to structures of oppression. Anti-Hierarchical: I place great importance on building a non-hierarchical collaborative relationship between counselor and client. Our space would emphasize transparency, mutuality, empowerment, and choice. Ideal Clients: I only work with individuals and adults 18+. My ideal clients are people who are BIPOC, HNAAPI, SWANA, Transracial or Transnational Adoptees, Queer And Trans Folks, Neurodivergent Folks, Nurses, Therapists, Artists, Streamers, Chronic Pain/Illness, and Nonmonagamous Folks.
